We are the same team that cover all of Hampshire and further (as far as we’re asked to) at a time of need and, when you have been introduced to your funeral director, they will have the honour of looking after you and your loved one thought the funeral arrangements and beyond.

Whether you're considering a direct cremation , a simple service or a more tradtional funeral, we'll explain our fees, so you can make a choice that feels right for you and your family.
Direct Cremation
A Unattended Cremation Service
£1,695 including Disbursements
- Funeral Director’s professional services and advice (24 hours)
- Into care service /conveyance of your loved one *(within a 20 mile radius / within office hours 9am-4pm)
- Care and attention of your loved one until the day of the cremation
- The arrangements for the no service commital
- Coordination and submission of all relevant documentation and paperwork
- Provision of a suitable coffin
- Preparation and care of your loved one as deemed necessary and dressing in own clothing or a white gown if desired
- Southampton Crematorium Fee
- Provision of a hearse to take your loved one to the crematorium (locally)
- Provision of our staff on the day of the cremation
- Collection & Retention of cremated remains from crematorium
- Provision of personal items such as cards, photos and letters to be place with your loved one
Low Cost Funeral
A Attended Simple Funeral Service
£3,495 including Disbursements
- Funeral Director’s professional services and advice (24 hours)
- Waters & Sons Funeral Directors funeral services and all arrangements for cremation services
- Into care service / conveyance of your loved one within office hours *(within a 20 mile radius)
- The personal attention of your Arranger and Funeral Director throughout
- Preparation and care of your loved one as deemed necessary and dressed in own clothing or a white gown
- Provision of a suitable coffin, fully lined and fitted.
- Provision of a Mercedes hearse and four pallbearers
- Hearse direct to either Southampton Crematorium (bassett)
- 30-minute service at the crematorium
- Set up, receiving and collection of charitable donations on your behalf to charities of yours, or your loved one’s choice (as applicable)
- Online tributes page on our website
- Crematorium Fee
- Celebrant, Minister or Officant Fee
- Collection & Retention of cremated remains from the crematorium

Personal Statement from our Founder
I founded Waters & Sons - Merryoak in 2009 after having worked in the industry following my previous career as an auxiliary nurse, to be a family owned and run funeral directors as I could see that there was a lack of local family funeral directors in the area. Over this time I have managed to build a great rapport with the local community, serving many local families and fulfilling their wishes.
Over the years my son, David, has grown into the industry and have fully joined the family business of which I am still very much involved day to day.
Years on, to now we now have fully licensed and industry trained Staff who, individually, take it upon themselves to maintain their own professional development and continued training throughout their careers.
We are 100% Independent and although our main funeral home and care centre is in Merryoak, we have funeral homes in Aldermoor and Portchester too, all with their own comfortable and inviting private arranging rooms and beautifully presented chapels of rest.
Being Independent means absolute continuity for you as a family.

Our funeral services include no service funerals, solent funeral, bespoke funerals, direct cremations, and every funeral will be tailored to your wishes and requirements.
